1) Certification application and acceptance

This is the beginning of the certification process. The applicant submits a formal written application to the designated certification body, submits technical documents and certification samples in accordance with the certification implementation rules and the requirements of the certification body, and signs relevant agreements with the certification body on related matters (may also be combined with the application). Applicants for certification can be producers, importers and sellers of products. When the applicant is not the producer of the product, the applicant shall sign relevant documents with the producer of the product on the implementation of certification, and make arrangements for such matters as document review, sample testing, factory inspection, logo use and post-certification supervision. The applicant can also entrust an agent to apply for certification, but the agent must obtain the registration qualification of the National Accreditation Administration.

2) Type test

The type test is the core link of the certification process. When the product is a special product such as a chemical product, the type test will be replaced by a sample test. The type test is carried out by the designated testing agency in accordance with the certification implementation rules and the requirements of the certification agency. In special cases, such as large products and difficult transportation, the type test can also be arranged by the certification body in accordance with the requirements of the CNCA to use the resources of the factory. In principle, one type of test report per unit is required for type testing, but for the same product of the same applicant and different production sites, only one test is required.

3) Factory inspection

Factory inspection is an important link to ensure the validity of certification. Factory inspection is carried out by the certification body or designated inspection body in accordance with the requirements of the certification implementation rules. The factory inspection includes two parts, one is the consistency inspection of the product, including the verification of the product structure, specifications, important materials or parts, and the other is the inspection of the factory's quality assurance ability. In principle, the factory inspection will be carried out after the completion of product testing. In special cases, according to the requirements of the applicant, the certification body can also arrange for factory inspections in advance, and make appropriate arrangements for the inspection man-days as needed. For factories that have obtained management system certifications from authorized certification bodies, the review of the system part of their quality assurance capabilities can be simplified or eliminated.

4) Sampling test

Sampling test is a part of the product design that is not suitable for type testing and when the factory inspection questions the consistency of the product. For the convenience of the enterprise, the sampling is generally arranged at the factory inspection, or it can be sent in advance according to the applicant's requirements. Sampling and conducting factory inspection after passing the test.

5) Evaluation and approval of certification results

The certification body shall evaluate based on the results of testing and factory inspection, make a certification decision and notify the applicant. In principle, the time from the date when the certification body accepts the certification application to make the certification decision does not exceed 90 days.

6) Supervision after certification.

In order to ensure the continuous validity of the certification certificate, the certified products are arranged to be supervised after certification according to the product characteristics, and detailed regulations are made in the certification implementation rules. It is worth mentioning that the post-certification supervision includes two parts, namely product consistency review and factory quality assurance capability review.

6. What are the requirements for obtaining an explosion-proof 3C enterprise?

7. How long does it take to obtain 3C certification?

It takes about 5 working days to apply, about 30-50 working days for product inspection, and about 90 working days for the initial factory inspection (excluding rectification time when problems occur).

8. What is the validity period of the explosion-proof 3C certificate?

The certificate is valid for 5 years. During the validity period, the validity of the certificate depends on the post-certification supervision of the certification body.
